Reviewing the Document

Before notarizing, the notary checks that the document is ready — but does not read it for accuracy.

The document must:

  • Not be blank or have empty spaces
  • Include all required pages
  • Have a notarial certificate (or the signer must tell you which act is needed)

A notary verifies the process, not the content. You confirm the document is complete and ready — you do not judge whether the information inside is true, fair, or legal.
