Responding to Fire or Gas Leaks
Fire and gas leaks move fast, and hesitating to grab belongings or investigate the source can cost critical time.
✓What to Do
- Get out immediately with the pet if it's safe to do so
- Don't stop to gather belongings or investigate the smell or smoke further
- Call emergency services as soon as you're safely outside
- Contact the client once you and the pet are safe
If it isn't safe to grab the pet on your way out, prioritize your own safety and inform emergency responders immediately that an animal is inside.
