Setting Up for a Safe Visit

A good visit starts before you ever walk in the door.

Before Every Visit

  • Confirm the visit schedule and any last-minute changes with the client
  • Review feeding instructions, medication schedules, and emergency contacts
  • Check that you have keys, alarm codes, or entry instructions confirmed and working
  • Note where supplies (food, leash, litter, cleaning materials) are kept

Taking a few minutes to prepare before each visit prevents the two most common problems in pet sitting: showing up unable to get in, and missing a detail the owner assumed you already knew.
