Recognizing Anxiety and Fear
Anxiety and fear often show up more intensely than everyday stress, and usually call for a gentler response.
✓Signs of Anxiety or Fear
- Trembling or shaking
- Trying to hide or escape the room
- Excessive drooling
- Refusing normal food
- Excess vocalizing, such as whining or crying
✓How to Respond
- Stay calm and move slowly
- Don't force interaction — let the pet approach you
- Keep the routine as familiar as possible
- Note the behavior and let the client know, especially if it's new
